Chaise lounges have many meanings. It is called long chairs in French, especially in the furniture industry. It can also refer to a stretched chair, fitting under a persons legs with an armchair or upholstered back. Nowadays, modern discerning and machine manufacturing have permitted chaise lounges to be constructed and turned out more economically. It provide great comfort particularly when they are thoughtfully placed on a terrace or patio.
Teak chaise lounges are the best choice in terms of durability and attractiveness. Teaks high oil content makes it virtually rot proof and extremely resistant to the elements. It is a strong and beautiful material. Unfortunately, it is also usually harvested unsustainably and is therefore a poor choice if one is concerned with environmental health. The exception is teak that is farmed sustainably, though this can be somewhat hard to find.
Aside from being a symbol of elegance and a piece that adds beauty to your home or bedroom, a chaise lounge chair has also practical purposes. It can be another place where your whole body can rest aside from your bed. With it, you can also comfortably read a book, newspaper or magazine in a relaxed position. You can also listen to music, relax and enjoy the sunlight while reclining to it.
